Just before the high speed water stream exits the jet, a fine abrasive material like garnet is introduced into it. This combination of fine abrasive particles and high velocity water cuts away the stone, and creates smooth, extremely accurate edges.
- Finished parts are burr-free, and require no secondary machining. Unlike traditional cutting processes, the material being cut is not hardened, and its physical and chemical properties do not change. Also, the waterjet machine does not generates heat during the process.
- With a jet diameter of only 0.03" along with a cutting tolerance as close as ±0.003", our abrasive waterjet is suited for the most intricate cutting jobs. For large cutting requirements, the machine can accommodate materials up to 8" thick.
